Rangely boys go 2-1 on the week

RANGELY — It was quite the week for the Panther squad as they had a couple of wins early in the week and then finished on a sour note in Manila.
Rangely started the week on Tuesday, hosting their first home game of the season against the Altamont Longhorns.
Both teams traded baskets to tie the game at 14 apiece after one.
The difference in the game and what will ultimately determine the Panthers direction is how they play defense.
Putting together a solid performance in the second quarter, the Cats again scored 14, but held the Longhorns to just three.
The Panthers outscored the visitors 24-22 in the second half to take a 50-39 win.
The Panthers were only 12 of 29 from the free-throw line.
Friday the road warriors were at Paonia to face the team that ended their season last year. Their memory was sharp as they handed the Eagles a stinging 64-26 walloping.
Swarming defense and running the ball opened up a somewhat close half-time game.
In the third period, the Panthers gave up only one field goal and eight points in the entire second half.
The bus came to a screeching halt on Saturday as the Mustangs handed the Panthers an ugly 61-41 loss.
