Katherine Suchar of Cedaredge passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert, Colo. She was 84 years of age.
Services are planned for a later date.
Katherine Suchar was born to Frank Koler and Katherine (Kremer) Koler Aug. 13, 1926, in Oak Creek, Colo. She spent her childhood and was graduated from high school in Oak Creek.
Katherine married John Suchar May 22, 1946 in Oak Creek. They shared 48 loving years of marriage until John’s death in 1994.
Katherine attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, Colo., where she became a licensed practical nurse (LPN). She worked for Dr. Robert L. Smith in Rangely, Colo., for many years.
Katherine was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She loved traveling, crafts, sewing and sports – football – CU Buffs and the Denver Broncos. She was also a member of St. Philip’s Catholic Church and belonged to the Elberta Rebekah Lodge #106 of Cedaredge, Colo.
Katherine is survived by her son Tom (Mary Lansing) Suchar of Rangely; daughter Becky (Dennis) Lane of Eckert, Colo.; brother Ed (Judy) Koler of Buena Vista, Colo.; four grandchildren Eric Lane, Julie Lane (Tim) Bockelman, Jane Suchar (Steve Hass) all of Grand Junction, Colo., and John (Kelsey) Suchar of Fruita, Colo; five great-grandchildren Rachel, Carrie, Gracie Lane and Kaylee and Emilee Mullen all of Grand Junction, Colo.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Suchar; and brother Frank Koler.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
