Dennis Dean Piper, 56, peacefully passed away on Nov. 16, 2010, after a year of battling cancer.
He was born on May 17, 1954, in Rifle, Colo. and his family lived in Meeker. He was also a resident of Hawaii and Seattle, Wash.
After that he got his CDL and traveled to many different states for 20 years but he always had a spot in his heart for the mountains and loved to ride horses and fish the White River.
Dennis was a cowboy at heart and loved to help his fellow man. He was known by many different names – Mr. Outstanding, The Hillbilly Sheriff of South Fork or Brother D; he was always ready to make someone smile. Dennis was friends with many no matter age, race or creed.
He is survived by his children Nicholas and Nicole, brothers David, Danny and Michael Lee, mother Gertie and numerous nieces and nephews. His memorial service was held Saturday, Nov. 20.
