You’ve got three extra days to file your income taxes, thanks to a little-known Washington, D.C., holiday that happens to fall on April 16 this year. Emancipation Day celebrates the freeing of slaves in the District of Columbia. In the spirit of the holiday, the district will observe the holiday on Friday, April 15 this year, granting government workers there yet another three-day weekend.
