Brian Douglas Covay, 37, passed from this world Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008. He was born on April 27, 1971, in Mountain View, Calif. He grew up in Meeker, Colo., and Louisiana. Brian was a resident of Las Vegas, Nev., for the past 18 years. He worked for the past 16 years at Albertson’s. Brian will be fondly remembered for his patience, kind heart and strong work ethic. Brian is survived by his parents Ken and Kathy Covay of Las Vegas, his brother Jeff and sister-in-law Beth of Fruita, Colo., and grandmother Gladys Covay of Des Plaines, Ill. He also is survived by his aunt Sharon Reese, uncle Walter Hofmann, and many cousins.
Brian was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Walter and Harriett Hofmann and his paternal grandfather Chester Covay. Services took place Jan. 7, 2009, at Palm Mortuary-Northwest, at 6701 North Jones Blvd., Las Vegas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Stroke Foundation or the National Stroke Association.
Brian held a special place in our hearts and we’ll remember his smile, his cheerful nature and kindness. We will look forward to being reunited with him in Heaven.
