MEEKER I The Meeker Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize the Members of the Month for August:  D&T Repair, the Meeker Ministerial Alliance and H&H Processing and Outfitting have been selected to be showcased this month. In 1998, Doug and Trula Simmons opened D&T Repair. They wanted to provide quality, affordable automotive services to the Meeker area. In 2001, they purchased an existing shop and moved to their current location of 1085 Market St. D&T Repair is a family-owned and operated business. This non-profit group is entirely supported by donations from the community and local churches. They exist to uphold the unity of the body of Christ, offer opportunities for worship of the one true God and to provide benevolence assistance in the name of Jesus to the community of Meeker. This group provides many services to our community, including an all-church picnic, opportunities for combined church services, a Good Friday presentation of the stations of the cross, an Easter Sunday sunrise service, the Meeker High School baccalaureate service, a once-a-month free lunch to high school students and assistance to those in need with such things as rent, utilities and groceries (through the community food bank at the United Methodist Church). The alliance has monthly meetings which are open to all Christian ministers.Participating churches include: Meeker Assembly, Pastor Aaron Zielinske; St. James Episcopal Church, Priest Scott Hollenbeck; Christ Reformed Church, Pastor Rogers Meredith; New Creation Church, Pastor Joseph Cardile; The Church at Meeker, Pastor Mike Dinwiddie; Meeker United Methodist Church, Pastor Johnny Arrington; Holy Family Catholic Church, Deacon Bill Ertmer; Meeker Christian Church, Deacon Rick Ellsworth; and Christian Cowboy Ministries, Pastor Fred Ellis.H & H Processing and Outfitting is a family-owned business operated by John and Tawny Halandras. H & H is situated in the heart of Northwest Colorado’s elk country. They are a fully-licensed, bonded and insured Colorado outfitter. John and Tawny are third-generation Meekerites and are currently training the fourth generation as future replacements.H & H specializes in elk, mule deer, and antelope hunts. Guided hunts are designed to allow the hunter to enjoy all the aspects of the outdoors and a quality big game hunt. They prefer hunters to focus on the hunt, so they limit the hunter’s responsibilities to eating, sleeping and of course hunting while they do all the rest.H & H also has a state-of-the-art meat processing center with the ability to process your game professionally and quickly. In many instances you can take it with you when you head home. If not, your meat will be shipped within a week or two. Their processing plant is located west of Meeker, and since its inception in 1993, it has become a local favorite for many big game hunters. What started as a small operation to handle personal clients’ game has rapidly grown and is consistently processing up to 600 deer and elk annually. Cleanliness and good service are their top priority. They always handle your game with utmost care and special attention is given to detail. H & H Processing offers a variety of options in preparation of your meat and trophies. For more information, contact John or Tawny at (970) 878-5151 or (970) 878-5126 or online at http://handhoutfitting.com/index.html
