Blue Mountain Inn and Suites nears completion in May

RANGELY — Blue Mountain Inn and Suites will soon open its doors to the public, ushering in the latest of conveniences for tourists, the itinerant workforce and local residents as well.
From the spacious entryway, visitors will pass through a fireplace-endowed lobby and have a view into the swimming pool and spa area as well as a dining room for the guests’ continental breakfast.
Of the 50 total rooms, six will be connected-room suites for larger groups or families. One of these will be a boardroom configuration with a state-of-the-art meeting table featuring outlets for peripherals and conference telephones, a wide-screen flat panel monitor for computer presentations and high-backed chairs instead of a second bedroom.
The suites will also offer more luxury features, such as a wet bar, Jacuzzi tub and flat panel television in the master bedrooms. Eighteen other rooms will feature a single king-size bed and the remainder will have double queen-size beds. All guest rooms will feature large bathrooms finished with attractive ceramic tile. In addition to the basic amenities of vending and guest laundry areas, wireless high-speed Internet service will be available throughout the facility.
Don Bramer and Bob Jappe of DBHM, LLC Hospitality Management in Grand Junction, a team with more than 30 years each of experience, will oversee the operation of Northwest Colorado’s newest hotel property including employee hiring, sales, marketing, maintenance and all other operational aspects of the property.
The motel will employ 15 full-time personnel and possibly a handful of part-time workers.
Bramer said he is extremely proud of the quality of construction being done and the services that will be offered at the motel and the adjoining commercial property. Bramer is a long-time partner with Mark and Kathy Calvin of Markat Development, the property owners.
They have been developing and building commercial and residential projects on the western slope for more than 20 years and have a strong track record of positive community involvement wherever they have worked, attested to by a long list of satisfied clients.
For the safety of the guests, a full sprinkler and smoke detector system runs throughout the building and monitor cameras in all public areas can be coordinated at the front desk that will be manned 24 hours a day. Handicapped accessible rooms are available on the ground floor.
The four storefronts being built next door will each contain 1,000 square feet of floor space and could host a variety of new businesses, although none have yet committed.
Due to a strong projected demand, an additional 24 guest rooms in a third building are in the planning stage and could be started by fall of this year. Also under consideration is a restaurant that would be placed facing the storefront building and would be contingent upon no other dining establishment being placed in the existing storefronts.
