Happy Groundhog’s Day! Hey, who cares what happened in Pennsylvania, did our local groundhogs (i.e. whistle pigs and/or ground squirrels) see their shadows this morning? Oh, who cares. We all know we’ve got at least six more weeks of winter. Put on your mittens and suck it up.
There’s not a lot to get excited about this time of year. The January/February “blahs” are practically legendary in Meeker. That said, the Meeker Chamber’s annual dinner and entertainment this Friday ought to be well-attended. Maybe the scheduled hypnotist can convince us all that the economy is thriving, spring has arrived and everyone will be pleased with the outcome of the 2012 elections. Nah. We’ll probably settle for watching a few friends and family members humiliate themselves in public.
