RANGELY — The Rangely Special Olympics Unified Basketball team traveled to Grand Junction Feb. 17 for the Western Area Special Olympics basketball tournament at Mesa State College.
Twenty-three teams competed in the tournament in six divisions. Rangely competed in Division 3 against Delta No. 2, Grand Junction Wolves, Grand Junction Residential Center and Mt. View Developmental Services.
The team consists of athletes Jeremy Gohr, Edilia Flores, B.J. Millsaps and Russell Moore. Unified partners are Cody Kinney, Chase Kinney, Bryce Gohr, Kendall Wilson, Bo Armstrong and Jeremiah Dorsey.
The Rangely team won both of its games to place first in its division and qualified for the state basketball tournament March 21-22 in Lakewood.
