RANGELY — Waiting one extra day because of a snow delay, a long bus ride and traveling on snow-packed roads didn’t slow down the Rangely Panthers as they routed the West Grand Mustangs 64-44.
The game was close after the first quarter but the Panthers outscored West Grand 21-8 in the second and the game was never close after that.
The Panthers played a solid game on the defensive side with 11 steals, blocking 12 shots and taking the Mustangs out of their game. Rangely also did a great job working as a team and dished out 18 assists, leading to a lot of easy baskets.
Michael Morton had a great game, scoring 20 points, pulling down five rebounds and blocking eight shots. Patrick Phelan finished with 15 points and did a great job by grabbing seven rebounds. Also scoring for the Panthers were Tim Willis with eight points, Kindal Cushman had six, Kanden Brady five, Keenan Harvey four points and eight rebounds, while both Adam Dahl and Lewis Murray finished with three points.
This was a solid victory for Rangely and they look forward to a very important game against a very good team in Meeker this Friday and with Hayden Saturday.
