Ashley Medical Center honored

VERNAL — Ashley Regional Medical Center has been recognized by its parent company, LifePoint Hospitals, Inc., as the 2007 High Five Award recipient for the company. The highest honor awarded annually to one of its hospitals, the High Five Award recognizes exceptional progress and success in each of LifePoint Hospitals’ five core values:
n Delivering compassionate, high quality patient care
n Creating an outstanding environment for employees
n Supporting physicians
n Providing community value
n Ensuring fiscal responsibility
The award was received by the Ashley Regional administrative team: Si Hutt, chief executive officer; Chad Labrum, chief financial officer; and Mark Holyoak, R.N., chief nursing officer. The award was accepted on behalf of Ashley Regional’s employees, physicians, volunteers and board of trustees at the annual LifePoint Operations Meeting last week in Nashville, Tenn.
“We created this award to honor the LifePoint hospital that has performed the most impressively over the past year in each of these five areas which are vital to our success,” said Bill Gracey, chief operating officer of LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. “Ashley Regional Medical Center does an outstanding job serving its community and its constituents. They’ve achieved remarkable success over the past year due to the commitment of their staff and the talent of their leadership team.”
“Congratulations goes to each and every one of our staff members for playing a valuable role in achieving the excellent results that produced this recognition from LifePoint,” said chief executive officer Si Hutt. “We have a staff that is focused on providing high quality care and outstanding customer service. Part of being recognized for the High Five is to have great results which are objective and measurable in all five of the focus areas. This honor is another testament that Ashley Regional Medical Center is bringing top notch medical and surgical care to the Basin. I am really proud of, and grateful for, the wonderful people – employees, physicians and volunteers – who work at this hospital and the dedication they show every day to improving health by delivering high quality care in Northeastern Utah with compassion and respect for each individual. It is our goal to continue to provide more, high quality services locally and to strive to make each patient’s experience positive when they come to our hospital.”
As the company’s High Five award winner, Ashley Regional also received a check in the amount of $250,000 to be used toward additional medical technology and facility expansion as the hospital continues to grow and enhance its medical services.
Ashley Regional Medical Center is a 39-bed acute care joint commission accredited facility located in the heart of the Uintah Basin. The hospital cares for patients from the Tri-County area of Uintah, Duschesne, and Daggett counties as well as patients from the western slope of Colorado and southern Wyoming.
