RBC I The Rio Blanco County 4-H livestock judging team started out the season with style. The team, consisting of 15 juniors and two seniors, traveled to Cortez, Colo., to the Four States Ag Expo on Friday, March 16. Several members of the team were traveling for the first time. The team judged five classes of cattle, four classes of sheep and two hog classes. The juniors entered four teams. Team 1: Destiny Bland, Tristan Hall, Serena Goedert and Marryn Shults. Team 2: Madi Shults, Macy Collins, Kaylee Mecham and Mary Baylie. Team 3: Del Garner, A.J. Garner, Kenzie Turner and Raelynn Norman. Team 4: Makenna Burke, Kale Burke, Kolbi Franklin and Lyle Uhrich. The senior team was Maclaine Shults and Landon Mecham.
As quoted by one of the organizers, Rio Blanco came to the contest “ready for business.” The team came home with garment bags, Makenna’s first belt buckle, some iTunes cards and two pairs of great boots.
