Conservation Tree Program available

RBC — The White River and Douglas Creek Conservation District’s Annual Tree Program is underway. The Conservation Tree program enables local landowners to obtain affordable seedlings for windbreaks, wildlife habitat, erosion control, noise or visual barriers or other conservation uses.
To be eligible for this program, you must own at least two acres of land, cannot resell trees as living plants and cannot use them for landscaping.
The conservation districts encourage landowners to plan ahead and order their trees early for best selection.
Tree orders are due March 2, 2009. If you need more information, please call them at 878-5628 or stop by the districts’ office, 351 7th St. in Meeker.
