The Meeker Fire and Rescue District allowed close to 20 members of the newly formed “Meeker Summer Play Group” to tour the local firehouse last week. Organizer Addy Aven said the firehouse tour for kids ranging from 0 to 5 years old was the first of many activities planned for the summer and the “kids had a blast.” Aven said 20 families are part of the group, which will be flying kites and riding bikes at the high school track this weekend.
