Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Meeker last weekend to celebrate the harvest of the 2012 Capitol Christmas Tree from the White River National Forest. Festivities included the harvest, a street fair, speeches, a 5K walk/run, music, Ute dancing and drumming and a parade of lights before the tree was wrapped up for its journey to Washington, D.C.
