Food bank in Meeker Nov. 29

Giving Tree sponsors needed
MEEKER | If you would like to sponsor a child for Christmas through The Giving Tree, an ornament can be picked up at Meeker Drugs. Gifts purchased need to be returned to the United Methodist Church no later than Dec. 1. Thank you for your support!

RBC to make board appointments
RBC | Rio Blanco County Commissioners will be making appointments or reappointments to the following local boards during the month of January 2013: RBC Planning Commission, RBC Fairgrounds Management, RBC Fair Board, RBC Weed Management Advisory Committee, Council on Aging, RBC Lodging Tax Board, Columbine Park Advisory Committee, RBC Historic Preservation Advisory Board, Rangely Regional Library District, Meeker Regional Library District. If you are interested in serving on any of the listed boards or would like to be reappointed to a board you are currently serving on, please send a letter of interest to the Board of Commissioners, Box I, Meeker, Colo., 81641, by Dec. 31, 2012.

Free Thanksgiving dinners in Meeker area
MEEKER | Holy Family Catholic Church invites everyone to a free Thanksgiving Day Dinner this Thursday from noon to 2:30 p.m. Holy Family Catholic Church is located at 889 Park Street in Meeker.
New Creation Church will also provide a free community Thanksgiving dinner Saturday, Nov. 24 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at 388 Ninth Street, in Meeker.

Share the Light Dec. 5
MEEKER | The Tree Lighting ceremony on the courthouse lawn will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. hosted by Pioneers Healthcare Foundation. People can recognize and honor loved ones with the purchase of a light bulb. Proceeds support the foundation and community. Deadline for buying a light bulb is Nov. 26.

Community cantata Dec. 9
MEEKER | The annual community cantata titled “Holy Night of Miracles” will be held Dec. 9, at 3 p.m., in the Meeker High School auditorium.
