It’s not too late to join 4-H

RBC I It is not too late to sign up for 4-H at this time as there are several clubs still open for enrollment.
Rio Blanco County has an exceptional 4-H program with thriving market livestock and general project clubs, said Dessa Watson, a CSU Extension agent and 4-H youth development worker.
The Rangely and Meeker 4-H councils are active in planning community service activities as well as fun 4-H events and trips, she said.
One such trip is the 4-H Mini Trip in June, when 50-plus 4H’ers and chaperones travel to Denver for three days of educational fun!
So what is 4-H?
4-H is a family affair. It can also involve neighbors, relatives and friends.
4-H is a volunteer-led, educational program that supplements the teachings of home, church and school.
4-H is an informal educational program for all boys and girls 5 to 19 years of age, whether they
live in town or the country or on a farm.
Cloverbuds is a 4-H project for children age 5 to 8. Youth 8 years and older may select from a variety of 4-H projects, and 4-H is kids having fun and learning with their friends.
Watson said the following clubs are still open for enrollment in Meeker: gardening, fishing, photography, outdoor adventures, horseless horse, horse, cooking and art.
She said the following clubs are still open for enrollment in Rangely: dog obedience, cake decorating, photography, scrap-booking, home, leather, fishing, wildlife and compound archery.
