MHS Graduation: Class of 2013

Seniors in the Meeker High School Class of 2013 lined up on the track at Starbuck Stadium moments before starting the procession to their seats for commencement. Clear skies and sun mixed with the green hills in the background to make for a great day for the 47 members of the class as they passed one of the major milestones in one’s life.

Teacher Becca Nielsen, the commencement speaker at the Meeker High School Class of 2013 graduation festivities at Starbuck Stadium, had fun with graduating twins Scott and Alex Smith during her speech, teasing the brothers about how tough it has been to tell them apart.

High school and school district officials look on Saturday morning as Amanda Kendall, the salutatorian for the MHS Class of 2013, addressed her fellow seniors, reviewing the good times the students had along their lengthy journey to graduation. The students were presented their diplomas by the Meeker School District Board of Education. Also speaking at the commencement was class valedictorian Emily Eliasen, who passed her colorful mantle on to Taylor Neilson and Piper Haney, who will be seniors in the Class of 2014.
