RANGELY — The alliance recently established between Colorado State University-Global Campus and the Colorado Community College System has been extended to Colorado Northwestern Community College.
CSU-Global Campus has teamed up with Colorado community colleges in an effort to give students access to bachelor degree completion programs and master’s degrees online.
Representatives from CSU-Global Campus will visit CNCC this week with stops at the Craig and Rangely Campuses. On Oct. 16, CSU Global staff will be in Craig at the Bell Tower Building in Room 201 from 4-6 p.m.
They will be on the Rangely campus in the Johnson Building Conference Room A on Oct. 17 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Both days are to host events informing the students and community about CSU-Global campus and its mission of accessible online education.
Representatives will also discuss a virtual open house that will open during the Oct. 16 visit to Craig and remain open for two weeks after CSU-Global Campus visits to Craig and Rangely. This opportunity to go inside an online class will allow interested students to get a better idea of the demands and advantages of learning online.
Scholarships are available, and those interested in learning more should contact a success advisor or visit www.csuglobal.org. The $100 per credit hour charter scholarship is limited to students who begin classes for the Oct. 27 session. The government employee rate, which is nearly a 50 percent savings over the regular tuition rate, is offered to all city, county and state employees.
Plans are under way to have a CSU Global campus staff member on campus at least once a month for the beginning of this arrangement in order to guide students through the process. CNCC staff members will be cross-trained to show students how to operate within the CSU Global campus when CSU Global staff members are not available on our campuses. Once the initial introduction has been made, more specific information will be provided, so stay tuned for further information.
