RANGELY I Rangely District Hospital will hold a nurses’ pinning ceremony at 6 p.m. on Dec. 7 in the meeting rooms at the hospital.
“This year, as we have opened our new hospital, we have had time to reflect on the legacy of individuals who have left their mark on Rangely District Hospital and truly made a difference,” said Cynthia S. Stults, the executive assistant/human resources director at RDH.
“Instantly it came to mind that we have been blessed with some truly amazing chief nursing officers – individuals who have shaped and formed RDH into the wonderful facility it is today, not to mention being instrumental in shaping the nursing care that our community receives,” she said.
“We are so honored to announce that we will be honoring three of the most amazing chief nursing officers we have been blessed to have grace our halls,” she said. “We would like to honor Ruth King, RN, posthumously; Mary Reese, RN, posthumously; and Sheryl Sheley, RN, for the amazing contributions and legacy they have left our hospital.
“They will be honored in a pinning ceremony for Excellence in Nursing as a director of nursing for RDH,” Stults said. “We have invited their families to help us celebrate these three exceptional individuals.
New this year will also be the “Ruth King Excellence in Nursing Award.” It will be presented to nurses in the future who demonstrate excellence in the nursing field, the community and RDH. We trust it will be an award that the nursing department will strive to earn and be proud of.
“This would not be possible if it were not for the amazing talents, compassion, training and excellence in nursing that the three nursing officers whom we will be honoring on Dec. 7 have brought to RDH, Stults said.
