Rangely schools hold health fair

RANGELY — The RE-4 Wellness Committee and the Rangely community pulled together to put on health fairs for all three public schools.
“We would like to thank all those who made this day a huge success,” said RE-4 nurse Mary Ann Allred.
The health fair was held April 10 at Parkview Elementary and May 1 at Rangely Middle School and Rangely High School.
Elementary school presenters were: the bus garage, Ron and Tammy, bus safety, tooth care/CNCC dental hygiene, Joyce Key and the fifth grade presented CPR, nutrition with Sara Ward, the Rangely Rural Fire Department talked about fire safety, Heart to Heart (G. Urie), emergency care (Shanna Kinney), Rangely Police and Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office, and Tim Webber from the recreation center. The RMS/RHS presenters were: fire safety by the Rangley Fire Department, stress management by Kathleen Martinowicz and Judy Allred, tooth care/CNCC dental hygiene students, tobacco prevention and immunization by Holli Schopp, sports injury prevention, massage therapy with Shanna Wenzel, nutrition by Carla Slagle, Michelle Huber presented healthy relationships, Rangely District Hospital-Rhonda Worrall and crew did height, weight and vital signs, safety in the oil field by EnCana representative Laura Lancaster, DNA identification kits by the Masons, the Rangely Recreation Center, Camilla Connor and Tim Webber presented fitness and water safety, medical consultations were done by Rosaly Coombs, and Rick Hogan from Peterson Medical talked about body building and fitness.
The Wellness Committee (Quinton Kent, Kimberlee Long, Donna Gohr, Rhoda Worrall, Brenda Pennell, Rosaly Coombs, Carla Slagle, Mary Ann Allred, Beth Scoggins, Kathy Thorsby, Amy Ward, Logan Stewart, Madelin Lawson and Hannah Turner) would also like to thank those donating cash, prizes or photos – Julia Davis (RMS/RHS art teacher), Rangely District Hospital Board of Directors, W.C. Striegel Inc., Peterson Medical (Rick Hogan), State Farm (Kevin Amack), Moon Lake Electric Cooperative, Epsilon Chi, Rangely High School Student Council and RHS National Honor Society.
