Obituary: Cynthia Lu Mobley Kerkstra

Cindy Kerkstra, 59, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 13, 2021, in Wyoming, Michigan. She was born Jan. 23, 1962, in Meeker, Colorado, to Bruce and Mary Mobley. Cindy leaves behind: the love of her life of 30 years, Brian Kerkstra; her six children, Danielle, Sidney and his wife Jessica, Jenni and her husband Sam, Angeline and her husband Kevin, Serena, and Benjamin; and her three dogs, Star, Mollie and Vic. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Mary Mobley.

Cindy was a loving wife, a caring mother, and a compassionate friend. She had an unshakable faith in Jesus Christ and abided by God’s word for her entire life. Her unique personality was memorable to all — she overflowed with joy and kindness, leaving an impact on everyone she met, and she had an eccentric sense of humor that never failed to make her family laugh. She will be remembered and deeply missed by all who loved her. Private visitation and burial services will be held for immediate family. A public memorial service will be held Jan. 23, 2022, at Metcalf and Jonkhoff Funeral Services from 2-4 p.m. in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
