Resurfacing parts of Highway 64 under way

RBC I Having begun Monday and lasting through June, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has started its resurfacing project on State Highway 64, near Rangely, between mile markers 28 and 38.
The work includes a 2-inch full-width overlay, shouldering, bridge deck improvements, guardrail improvements, striping, temporary traffic control and erosion control.
Work will take place Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with no weekend work.
Motorists can expect single lane closures throughout the duration of the project, with speeds reduced to 35 mph. It is anticipated that a pilot car will be utilized during the project to assist drivers with passage. Vehicle width restrictions will be in place.
CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all road signs and flaggers and to drive “Slow for the Cone” zones and note that traffic fines will be doubled within work zones.
The $2.5 million project is contracted through the Old Castle United Cos.
