BLM seeks local comment regarding county horse fence

MEEKER I The Bureau of Land Management released Tuesday a preliminary environmental assessment for construction of four segments of fence in association with the Herd Management Area boundary in Rio Blanco County.
The fence will serve to contain wild horses within the Piceance-East Douglas HMA. The 137-mile perimeter of the HMA does not currently restrict horses to the area designated for wild horse management. Horses leaving the HMA are at risk of vehicle collisions and…
