Sherry Lee Vosburgh was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Paulina, Iowa, to Lyle A. Vosburgh and June M. (Delmage).
In 1986, Sherry married a wonderful man, Robert Sargent (Sarge), with whom she spent the best years of her life traveling, hunting and fishing until his passing in 2006.
When Sherry retired from the Sioux Falls YMCA, she was able to dedicate her love of crafts, sewing, embroidery and quilting. She made personalized photo quilts for every grandchild, special embroidered quilts for each great-grandchild, and designed the beautiful heirloom baby quilts she struggled to keep up with.
She traveled to great places with Sarge, and was an incredible care giver. Her courage and strength were two of her greatest assets, but she never shined greater than in the past seven months of her life as she comforted everyone who came into her life and always left them with a smile; even on her very worst days. Her wishes were that her tissues be donated to research.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Roxanne Stusse of Waverly, Tenn.; Veronica (Bill) Bibb of Meeker; Jody (Doug) Rickett of Ponca, Neb.; Michelle McNeley (Dennis Tucker) of Sioux Falls; step-children Steve Sargent (Kim) of Wisconsin and Lori (Steve) O’Connor of California; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carmen Hustead of Diamond Bar, Calif.; a brother, Ward Vosburgh of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, stepson Steve Sargent, youngest daughter Tonya Jennings and a granddaughter, Tabatha Stusse.
