The Meeker Mustang Makeover returns Saturday, August 26, and we’ll be featuring trainers and their horses each week in the HT.
First up is youth trainer Jakob James. Jakob is 12 years old and hails from Oak Creek, Colorado. His horse, Lightning, is a bay yearling from the Piceance HMA and will be Lot #5 at the event.
“Lightning is a bold and self-assured young horse, displaying remarkable courage and curiosity toward unfamiliar experiences.” Jakob has skillfully guided Lightning through various obstacles, acquainting him with swimming and introducing him to new environments like the fairgrounds in Steamboat.
