There is some talk of buying steel cages for the county jail, and the proposition will be put before the commissioners in a favorable light at their forthcoming session. Under present conditions prisoners are taken to Glenwood or Leadville for safe keeping, and the cost of maintenance and transportation to and from these points is greater, it is claimed, than the expense of keeping them at home would be.
