They’ll head to Denver this weekend for regionals, starting with a first round game against Wiggins Saturday.

MEEKER |The Cowboys are league champions for a third year in a row.

“Everyone played like it was for the title and I’m very proud of what they have accomplished,” commented head coach Donald Blazon.

A 16-5 win over the Rangely Panthers in the team’s final regular season game sealed the championship. Ethan Quinn led with four runs, Jace Mobley had three, both Said Rodriguez and Clay Crawford had two. From the mound Carson Klinzmann and Skylar Browning took the victory with Klinzmann striking out seven.

The Cowboys are now 15-8, and according to the CHSAA seeding that puts them at a final seeding of 15. Which means they will be traveling to Denver Christian for regionals. They must win one game to continue on and they will be taking on the number 18 Wiggins in round one and Denver Christian will take on Crowley County.

“Just a small step towards the team goal,” commented Blazon.

The Cowboys will play Wiggins at Denver Christian this Saturday.
