Halandras announces his candidacy for RBC Commissioner seat

Dear Editor,

I am Regas Halandras and I am running for Rio Blanco County Commissioner.   I believe in the place we call home.  I am a RBC lifelong resident born and raised in ranching where we operated across much of the county.  I am self-employed and have built and managed multiple businesses in the county.  I am a landowner, taxpayer and employer.

I am a tireless supporter of all of organizations working to maintain and better our home. I have been involved in Meeker Town government where I was on the board of trustees for eight years and was mayor for six more. As well, I have over 30 years of volunteer experience among multiple organizations. I have built relationships that have brought together governmental agencies, private and public entities and citizens to build and promote projects, events and a county presence.

I, Regas Halandras, stand for a commitment to our communities, our county, our lives. Our county citizens enjoy livelihoods unencumbered by the problems of urban and city life. Our county offers an abundance of outdoor experiences, large mineral wealth and roots based in agriculture.  Rio Blanco County matters.

We need to work together to grow our local businesses in order to maintain the services that keep us going. We need to support that which keeps us alive by keeping RBC solvent. Small and large businesses and services need support on all levels with fair policies, minimal taxation and equal representation.

Rio Blanco County needs a strong voice on all levels of state and federal government to ensure that we are protected from the never-ending conflicts impressed upon our county, its communities and citizens. We need a commissioner that will stand up and be heard.  Our future is being pushed in directions that are trying to change the way we live.

I am running for RBC Commissioner to represent our county, to be the voice of our communities, to help bring our county forward as we preserve what we have for the future generations. Your support for me is that path.

Please stay tuned…

Gates supporting Halandras for commissioner

Dear Editor,

I am writing to express my strong support for Regas K. Halandras for the Rio Blanco County Commissioner seat in District 3, as I have decided not to run again. I have known Regas for many years and have been consistently impressed by his dedication to our communities, his strong work ethic, and, most importantly, his ability to unite people and find common ground to solve our community’s problems.

Regas is a lifelong resident of Rio Blanco County and has a deep understanding of the issues facing our communities. He is a self-employed entrepreneur with a successful track record of managing multiple businesses. He is also a Rio Blanco County landowner, taxpayer, and employer.

Regas has a proven record of public service. He served eight years as a Town of Meeker trustee and six years as mayor. He also serves on the boards of directors as President or Vice President for Pioneers Medical Center, The Meeker Classic Sheepdog Trials for 20 years, and the Meeker Area Mountain Bike Association.

Regas is a thoughtful, level-headed, and citizen-minded individual. He is always willing to listen to all sides of an issue and work toward a solution that is in the parties’ best interests. His strong advocacy for economic development and job creation is a testament to his commitment to our growth and prosperity.

I believe that Regas Halandras is the best candidate for county commissioner in District 3. He has the experience, the knowledge, and the commitment to serve our county well.

Sincerely,
Ty Gates
