Here comes Range Call! Here’s what you need to know

MEEKER | The 139th annual Range Call 4th of July Celebration is upon us! Join in for a weekend full of great events, with something for everyone! There will be rodeos all weekend long, a vendor extravaganza fair downtown, the annual barn dance, special events including the parade and block party, and concerts full of great music from the 6 Million Dollar Band (The ultimate ‘80s concert experience!) and William Michael Morgan and Clay Walker for the main event! TICKET INFORMATION

Wristbands and single event tickets are available. Wristbands include admission to all events for the whole weekend, including both concerts. Wristbands are required for admission to the concerts. Ages 18 and above are considered an adult, seniors are 65 and older. Discounted tickets are available for seniors, veterans, first responders  and active military (ID may be required at purchase.) Children under 5 are free! Discounts do not apply to VIP tickets. VIP tickets are limited, so get yours in advance before they are sold out.

Get your wristbands at Flat Tops Fuel in Meeker for advance tickets until July 3, then tickets will be available at the gate of each event. At the gate tickets are cash only, and there are ATMs on-site. Or, get your tickets online through the website by scanning the QR code. Ordering your tickets in advance will greatly reduce the extensive lines at the gates and get you to your seats faster. Single event tickets are also available at the gate of each event.

PARKING INFORMATION

Parking for events at the fairgrounds is in the lots adjacent to the grandstands on both sides. For the concert, parking will extend into the elementary school and rec center parking lots. Parking in advance of the opening of the gates to reserve spaces is not permitted. For downtown events, parking is normal first-come-first-serve parking, no streets are closed with the exception of Main Street on the morning of the 4th of July until the end of the parade, and the corner of Main and 6th while the bleachers are in place. 

CONCERT INFORMATION

Both concerts, taking place on Friday and Saturday evenings, are located at the RBC Fairgrounds on the old baseball field. Wristbands are required for entry. Gates open at 6 p.m., shows begin at 7 p.m. This is an outdoors event, so please be prepared for all possible weather conditions. No seating is provided with the exception of the VIP area, so please bring your own chairs. No outside food or beverages are permitted, bags will be checked at the gate. Food trucks will be on-site, and beverages will be for sale by the Meeker Lions Club. The Barn Dance follows directly after the country concert on Saturday night in the indoor arena, and food and drinks will be for sale. Again, early parking to reserve spaces is not permitted. Security and police officers will be present. Please drink responsibly.

RODEO INFORMATION

All rodeos take place at the RBC Fairgrounds outdoor arena. Kids’ mutton busting will be included, sign up in the breezeway under the grandstands. Rodeo times are as follows:

Ranch Rodeo – 3 p.m. Thursday, July 4

CPRA Rodeo – 2 p.m. Friday, July 5

Rodeo Slack – 8 a.m. Saturday July 6

CPRA Rodeo – 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6

FIREWORKS INFORMATION

Fireworks are on Thursday, July 4th at dusk. They are shot off from the Highland Cemetery hill and are visible from all over town. This year the annual block party is taking place that evening in downtown Meeker, and will continue right up until the fireworks begin, so please join us for a watch party on the courthouse lawn. The block party and fireworks show are both free events, open to the public, and are family friendly.

PARTNERSHIPS

Range Call partners with other community businesses and organizations to bring you these events. The White River Museum staff and members of the Rio Blanco County Historical Society run and provide the Milk Creek Battlefield tours, and the historic Bank Robbery Reenactment. You can also support them by purchasing a delicious root beer float after the parade in the historic Tagert building (Streamline Realty). 

The annual 4th of July Parade is run by the Meeker Chamber of Commerce, and is always on the 4th of July at 10 a.m. on Main Street. To enter your float in the parade, please visit their website for the entry form. Otherwise please arrive early to get a good spot, and bring your own chair if desired. 

The Run for Your Life 5k races are hosted by the Meeker Recreation District and are held on July 4 at 7:45 a.m. beginning on Main Street. Please contact them for more information or to register for the race. The Rec district also hosts the 3 on 3 basketball tournament at 12 p.m. at the Admin building parking lot.

This year the Wagon Wheel OHV Club is holding their Poker Run on Saturday, July 6 beginning at 8 a.m. at Ma Famiglia’s Restaurant. If you are interested in signing up to participate please contact them through their Facebook page. 

The Meeker Masonic Lodge hosts the annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on July 4 beginning at 7 a.m. on the Courthouse lawn, and would greatly appreciate everyone’s support.

Faith Baptist Church holds its annual Barbecue Lunch Fundraiser on July 4 at 12 p.m. on the courthouse lawn, looking to raise money for their teen summer camps.
