MHS StuCo Give Back Day

RBC | On Oct. 11, more than 75 high school students participated in the annual “Give Back Day” to provide service for our community.

Give Back Day started with the Meeker High School Student Council in 2022, which started a yearly tradition for the community.

This year, the student executive council organized a successful service day with lots of student involvement and jobs for our community. On top of this, the students also pooled $60 to be donated to the Wallbridge Wing to hand out candy on Halloween. The students were given more than 30 jobs including things like yard work, moving furniture, mowing lawns, and many more. The goal for MHS Student Council is to get students involved in our community and teach them the importance of community service, especially in our small town of Meeker. Student Council President Sam Hightower states, “Through our give back day, we have helped build our students’ connections with their peers and community members through acts of service.”

Look out for next year’s Give Back Day as advertised on Facebook sometime next October if you need labor work done!
