Community news roundup ~ Dec. 5

Can you help us raise $5,000 this month for a $5,000 match? Click the link to donate!

Greetings, dear readers! If you need some irrelevant trivia to discuss at company parties and family gatherings this holiday season, file this under things you didn’t know you needed to know: Cows have regional accents, depending on where they’re from and the herd they’ve been raised in, according to research done in England in the early 2000s. I’ll never hear a moo quite the same way.

And now, on to the actual news… there’s a VERY BUSY weekend ahead, with the Meeker Christmas Market at the Fairgrounds, the Girls’ Basketball Cowboy Shootout, ERBM’s Breakfast with Santa, Merry Meeker — Mistletoe Magic downtown with the parade, fireworks, the unveiling of the new skating rink, and more, and the high school drama presentation of “A Seussified Christmas Carol.”

#newsCOneeds

Our #newsCOneeds campaign is marching steadily along, thanks to you! We have an opportunity to receive up to $5,000 in matching grant funds this month thanks to the Colorado Media Project. Funds raised will go toward adding Jared Henderson to our staff. You’ve seen his work as a freelancer during the last few months and we’re looking forward to bringing him on part-time in January. Help us meet that matching grant goal by donating any tax-deductible amount to The Lyttle Project through the Colorado Gives donor page this month.

To all of you who have already donated, THANK YOU!
