Need to get rid of a Christmas tree?
RBC | White River Alliance is using used Christmas trees that are free of tinsel and other decorations to help restore inactive riparian areas. The trees act as a biodegradable obstacle that slows the water down, allowing sediment to drop in the channel instead of the river, and grasses to grow in the surrounding areas. Recovering riparian can provide good water access for livestock and wildlife. Slowly eroded channels can rise again, thus bringing the water table back up to its original level, and allowing native species grasses to flourish again. Our goal is to re-create many of the surrounding wetlands that have been lost from stream erosion. To have your tree picked up from your curbside or front door call 970-665-8744.
