4-H displays Honorable Mention artwork at the National Western

RBC | Since September, several members of the Rio Blanco 4-H program have been hard at work composing an artistic piece worthy of display at the National Western Stock Show (NWSS).

For the past two years, 4-H Leader and Livestock Judging Coach Bonnie Long, has encouraged local 4-H youth to enter the NWSS Youth Art Show. It is up to the 4-H member come up with a creative idea and translate it into an artistic piece for display. Once the artwork arrives in Denver a committee of judges review each piece.

One Champion and Grand Champion is chosen per grade, 1st–12th , and the committee selects a limited number of  pieces that have exceptional merit as honorable mentions for the art show. The Champion and Honorable Mention pieces are displayed throughout the duration of the NWSS.

Rio Blanco 4-H is proud to announce that Kinlie Plummer (8th) and Brooklyn Griggs (8th) of Rangely both received Honorable Mentions and had their artwork displayed at the 2025 NWSS.

Within the 8th grade entries there were six honorable mentions total for the art show.
