Annual pesticide applicators training held at RBC Extension

RBC | 35 people attended the annual pesticide applicators training in Exhibit Hall 2 at the RBC Fairgrounds last Thursday, Feb. 6.

Attendees learned about pesticide products and their legal and safe use. Anyone who holds either a private or commercial applicator’s license must take a designated number of education credits in order to maintain their license. They learn about state and federal laws governing the use of pesticides and also about personal, public and environmental safety when applying pesticides. This includes where particular products can be applied with respect to homes, public buildings, rivers and other water bodies.  This licensing is regulated by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. The Colorado State University Extension Service assists by offering annual educational classes where applicators can earn their required credits. Meeker classes provide a location for all northwest residents to get their training without having to travel to Grand Junction or the Front Range. If you are interested in attending our trainings, contact Linda Masters at 970-878-9494.
