Lenten Fish Fry April 4
MEEKER | The Meeker community is invited to the Holy Family Catholic Church (889 Park Ave.) Lenten Fish Fry, April 4, from 5-7:30 p.m. The cost: adult is $17/adult, $6/child (under 12 years old). The meal includes: two pieces of fish, French fries, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. Take-out is an option. There will also be a bake sale for those interested in buying baked goods. Come and enjoy fellowship and a good meal.
Smoking River Brewing Co. chili cook off April 5
MEEKER | Fourth Annual Chili Cook Off, Saturday April 5 starting at 4 p.m. at Smoking River Brewing Co. Enter your chili or be a taster! MEEKER |The next membership meeting of the Rio Blanco County Historical Society Inc. will be held at the Old West Heritage Culture Center on April 13 at noon. Ms. Casey will bring her students to share their research projects with us. We are meeting a little earlier than usual so that those of you who want to attend the Mason’s event can go. Local Working Group Meeting
MEEKER | Wednesday, April 23, 6-8 p.m. (food and beverages included), at the Fire Protection District (240 7th St.). Hosted by the White River and Douglas Creek Conservation Districts, we are collecting feedback from the local community to gain insight into key local natural resource concerns. This information will help identify and develop conservation projects in partnership with local producers. Natural resource concerns range from water quality, irrigation, forest health, streambank restoration, and wildlife to rangeland health and more. Funding is available to support eligible projects. Free Fire Preparedness Bootcamp for Landowners
MEEKER | Saturday, May 10, 10-2 p.m. (lunch included) at Cty Rd 8 Campgrounds (Mile Marker 24). Celebrate National Fire Awareness Month by joining us for an outdoor workshop in collaboration with our partners. Workshop stations will include: creating defensible space, chainsaw 101 safety, stacking for chipping, slash management, how to harden your home and a reflective 911 address sign making station.
