Community News Roundup ~ April 24, 2025

The sheep are coming! In what we’ve come to consider the official start of REAL spring, the Theos Swallow Fork sheep are starting their journey from winter pasture to the high country. According to a social media post, they started trailing along Hwy. 64 just east of Rangely this week and plan to trail from Rio Blanco Lake to Powell Park on May 3, then through Meeker and up County Road 8 on May 4. It’s a sight to behold, a reminder of our agricultural roots, and a good time to practice patience and plan ahead if you’re traveling through.

Here’s more news from this week!

“Freedom of the press and of expression is an important indicator of the state of a country’s health. Let’s not forget that one of the first things dictatorships do is remove freedom of the press or mask it, not leaving it free.”
