Obituary – Leasil Victor ‘Lee’ Davis

May 10, 1947 ~ April 29, 2025

Leasil Victor “Lee” Davis, 77, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Lee was born on May 10, 1947, in Meeker, Colorado.

Lee grew up in Meeker and graduated from Meeker High School. After completing his education, he proudly served in the United States Air Force for six years.

Following his time in the Air Force, Lee pursued a career in the oilfield industry—a field he was deeply passionate about. He worked tirelessly until an accident prevented him from continuing in that line of work. Even after that setback, Lee remained connected to the industry through various roles that allowed him to stay involved with what he loved. His resilience and adaptability were evident as he transitioned into different jobs while maintaining ties to the oilfield.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Lee had a special connection with animals. This passion led him to work on an exotic farm in Missouri at one point in his life—an experience that spoke to his adventurous spirit and love for nature.

Lee is survived by five children: daughters Annie, Deanna, Kim and Shelly, and one son Jason. He also leaves behind three siblings: sisters Sandy and Katie and one brother Leo. Lee is survived by 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Gene Homer Davis; mother Margaret Louise Davis; and sister Katherine L. Davis.

Lee’s life was one of perseverance and quiet strength. From serving his country abroad to working hard at home—whether on oil rigs or among animals—he approached each chapter with determination. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and he held dear.

A celebration of life will be held June 14, in Meeker, Colorado, at the City Park at 1 p.m.
