Meeker

Free admission for Meeker locals to the 2025 Meeker Mustang Makeover

PRESS RELEASE

MEEKER |  Mark your calendars for Sept. 26–27, 2025, because the Meeker Mustang Makeover (MMM) is back and bigger than ever—right here at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds! This homegrown event is quickly becoming a fall tradition for locals and visitors alike, and best of all, admission is free for Meeker locals.

This year’s Makeover is designed with families, friends, and neighbors in mind. It’s the perfect way to enjoy Meeker during one of the most beautiful times of the year. With crisp mountain air, golden aspens, and wide-open spaces, fall in our valley makes the ideal backdrop for a weekend of fun, community, and western tradition.

Bring the kids, bring your friends, and don’t forget to invite out-of-town family—it’s a budget-friendly, unforgettable way to show off everything Meeker has to offer.

What to Expect This Year:

• New Mustang Only Horse Show on Friday, highlighting the unique skills and stories of America’s wild horses.

• New Adult In-Hand Division, where trainers demonstrate the trust and connection they’ve built with their mustangs through groundwork.

• Two full days of excitement, as local and regional trainers showcase the transformation of once-wild mustangs into willing partners ready for adoption.

• Vendors, food trucks, and fun creating a festival atmosphere that’s fun for the whole family.

Under Saddle Trainer Alicia Rodriguez-Alexander shared her excitement for this year:

“The Makeover has been an incredible challenge to my horsemanship. The mustangs I’ve had the privilege of working with have shaped my approach to training and deepened my appreciation for these amazing horses. This year, I’m most excited to showcase the partnership Johnny Ringo and I have created, and find him a great new home.”

Every mustang you’ll see was once roaming wild across the West. Through the Bureau of Land Management adoption program and countless hours of training, these horses are given new opportunities and new families. Many spectators walk away not only inspired but also as the proud new owners of their forever horse.

The Meeker Mustang Makeover isn’t just about horses—it’s about community, courage, and connection. By attending, you’re helping support Meeker, local businesses, and wild horse adoption efforts. Merchandise sales also benefit the program and can be found online at chaosink.com/meeker-mustang-makeover.

So, let’s show off Meeker at its best—welcoming, beautiful, and proud of our western roots. Whether you stop in for a few hours or make a weekend of it with local lodging, you won’t want to miss this annual celebration that continues to grow every year.

Join us Sept. 26–27, 2025, at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds. Free admission, family fun, and the living legacy of the American mustang await!
