Herald Day is here again!
It’s rare for Spring Break in Western Colorado to actually feel like spring rather than second winter. This year’s an exception — it’s flirting with summer already. And with the kind of drought we’re in, that’s not exactly something to celebrate.
It’s a good time to start being extra cautious with those controlled burns, dusting off the old xeriscaping ideas (remember when that was all the rage?), weighing the pros and cons of fireworks, and maybe — only half joking here — penciling in a few rain dances. In addition to conducting fire mitigation around your own property, new or old.
In case you missed it last week: A Front Range physician is seeking input from rural teens (13–19) and caregivers who have experienced past suicidal thoughts or attempts — but are not currently struggling — to help develop a new screening tool. Participants complete a 30–60 minute confidential interview and are compensated. Teens 18–19 can participate without parental consent. This week, Jared wrote a great piece about a post-wildfire reseeding event, plus we have plenty of meeting updates, and a lot more!
