Happy Herald Day!
Campaign yard signs are popping up faster than spring flowers! It’s a reminder that the primary election for commissioner and sheriff coming up on June 30 will determine who fills those important seats (because the likelihood of a contested general election in November with write-in candidates from any other party is slim to none).
We’ve just sent out questions for the hospital board candidates (that vote is coming in May; check page 9 of this week’s paper for a primer on eligibility for casting a ballot in that election), and we’re still accepting suggested questions for the sheriff’s race and county commissioner race. Click the button below and share what you’d like us to ask the candidates.
The other thing popping up is a fresh hatch of Mormon crickets. (Ew.) According to the White River and Douglas Creek Conservation Districts, landowners are reporting sightings of immature crickets in the county. See “Conservation Corner” on p. 4 for information on cricket control.
Thank you, all, for reading, for subscribing, and for advertising! We’re grateful!
