Trinden Reigh Powell was born February 2, 2004 to Joseph and Cassandra (Skiff) Powell at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. His family moved to Meeker, CO in 2007, and he lived there most of his life. He spent over a year in Buckeye, AZ, and almost a year in Mill Hall, PA. His life was tragically cut short on August 1, 2026 at the young age of 22.
Trinden was a joy and blessing to everyone he met from the moment he was born. His presence alone could change the dynamic of a room for the better. He loved fiercely and always showed kindness and compassion to everyone.
From a very young age, Trinden loved loud music and fast vehicles. Nap time was less of a struggle when heavy metal was blasted in his room, and he refused to watch any other movie but Cars for almost a year. These two loves carried through his whole life. The genre of music broadened, and he found his love for all types of fast vehicles, but Trinden lived his entire life at high speed and volume up to 11.
Trinden loved the outdoors and all God’s creation has to offer. He was always down for hiking, hunting, fishing, atving, dirt biking, snowboarding and snowmobiling. Trinden never missed an opportunity to touch grass, and usually would drag friends and family with him.
Sports were one of Trinden’s greatest past times. Naturally athletic, he was involved with baseball, soccer, and basketball from a very young age. In middle school he started playing football and in 8th grade he finally convinced his parents to let him wrestle. These two sports became his ultimate passions, and shaped the person he was. He learned the value of being a team player and of owning his actions. Trinden could be counted on by his teammates for support and encouragement, a solid block, and a tight cradle when given the opportunity. He always demonstrated sportsmanship and respect to everyone on the field or mat – coaches, teammates, opponents, and referees.
Trinden was a hard worker his whole life, learning young to do things right the first time so he wouldn’t have to do it again. Once this lesson was learned, he always took great pride in his work and the things he accomplished. He was never afraid to tackle a project, helping his parents, friends, and family any time he could.
Nothing was more important to Trinden than his family. He had an unbreakable bond with his older sister Abby and younger brother Joshua (JJ). He would move mountains for his siblings and parents, and anyone else he considered family, whether they were related by blood, or friends who became family. This became even more evident as he began his relationship with Alexis Saville. Their relationship was put to the test from the start, living 2000 miles apart for almost a year. Trinden moved to Pennsylvania to be with her, and shortly after they were expecting a child. From that moment, Trinden was committed to giving Alexis and their baby a good life and working through any obstacles thrown their way. Atticus Reigh Powell was born June 18, 2026, and Trinden loved him fiercely and unconditionally. Trinden was made for fatherhood, stepping into the role with ease and passion.
Trinden is survived by his son Atticus, parents Joe and Cassie, siblings Abby and Josh, girlfriend Alexis, grandparents Dean and Becky Powell and Scott and Vicki Skiff, great grandmother Alice Powell, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Trinden touched so many lives during his short time, and his memory will live on through all his family and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the Meeker High School Football Field, 550 School Street, Meeker, CO 81641. Reception and refreshments will be at 5:00 PM, and the memorial service will begin at 6:00 PM. After the service, please feel free to stay and play football and wrestle, or share your favorite memories with the family. Please join the family in wearing jeans with cowboy boots or Hey Dudes, and your favorite blue, red, or “Hawaiian-style party” shirt to honor Trinden’s memory.
