n Prices for school lunches in 1958 were 25 cents for a single meal and $1.25 for a week’s ticket. The hot lunch program was run by Mrs. Irma Rector, Mrs. Oka Purcell and Mrs. Josephine French.
n For sale: three-quarters of an acre of land, all finced, with a six-room house with bath, log garage, large raspberry patch. $6,000.

n Trula McFarland and Doug Simmons announced their engagement. The couple planned a Sept. 20 wedding.

n Blake Smith, intrepid reporter for the Herald Times, turned 4-years-old and wanted to thank the Rangely community for helping raise money to buy a special hand-pedaled tricycle for his birthday.
n Average gasoline prices in Colorado averaged $1.15/gallon.
