A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 4 p.m. at the Clifton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3303 E 3/4 Road in Clifton, Colo., 81520.
Chuck was born Dec. 21, 1955, in Thermopolis, Wyo., to C.W. “Bill” Stockman and Lillie Stockman. Having spent his preparatory years in Rangely, Colo., and Las Vegas, Nev., he graduated high school in Leslie, Ark., in 1974, and then relocated to the Grand Junction area in 1980.
Throughout the years, Chuck pursued a career in the oil fields, was a mechanic, a welder and worked in construction, but he enjoyed driving trucks the most. Chuck was known for his hard work ethic, mechanical aptitude and his willingness to help others. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. Chuck loved spending time with his family in the great outdoors whether it be shooting, hunting, fishing, camping or hiking.
He is survived by: Melinda, his loving wife of 34 years; his daughters, Katie, married to Bruce Mahan, and Mollie, married to Matthew Heuton. Chuck adored his two grandchildren, Abbigail and Colton Heuton, and he was looking forward to meeting a new grandbaby in the summer.
Chuck is also survived by: his friend and brother, Don Stockman (Wendy) of Casper, Wyo.; his sisters, Gaye Stockman of Mesquite, Nev., and Joye Stockman of Rangely; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lil Stockman.
He was a compassionate, caring man who loved his family, and especially loved being “papa.” His smile and wisdom will be truly missed by those who knew him.
Chuck entertained the hope of the resurrection as held out at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:3, 4. He looked forward to once again playing with his grandchildren.
