Wallace Edward ‘Scotty’ Scott, 69, passed away peacefully with his wife, Penny, at his side on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Meeker, Colo.
Scotty was born March 13, 1946, in Oconee, Ill., to his parents, Wallace Edward Scott and Kathleen Young Scott.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 to 1966 in Vietnam.
He married his wife, Jeanne, and they were blessed with one daughter, Blythe Scott Ray, of Round Rock, Texas.
As a young man, Scotty learned to cowboy in Estania, Minn., under the patient teaching of his mentor, Bob Norman. For the next 20 years or so, he managed various large ranches all over the country. He went to college at UNC for a degree in ranch management. He was never happier than where he was on horseback.
He married Penny O’Conor in May 2002 and promptly took her to see his old haunts for (where is Lucy, Minn., anyway?) a honeymoon.
His health began to fail in 2005, and, although he fought his hardest, he went to be with the Lord on May 23, 2015.
Scotty leaves behind: his wife, Penny; his daughter, Blyth (Nicholas) Ray; his brothers, Corkie and Donald Scott; Penny’s children, Brad (Femy) Dillon, Chris (Wade) Allred, Kelly (Nate) Reuss, Billy (Bob) Rogers, and Thomas (Chelsea) O’Conor; and 13 grandchildren. He also leaves behind many cousins and aunts and uncles; Angel, his beloved dog; and friends too numerous to mention.
