MEEKER I It is the coming of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season and already entries are being taken for the Meeker Festival of Lights, to take place the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. and run through downtown on Main Street to the Rio Blanco County Courthouse, where the courthouse tree lighting ceremony will be held, the Meeker Community Choir will sign, and there will be a decorated wreath sale.
Floats are being urged by groups, organizations, individuals and businesses and prizes and awards will be given for the “It’s a Wonderful Life” theme award, the “Clark Griswold Brightest” award and for “Santa’s Elves’ Choice.”
