The date of Feb. 29 only rolls around once every four years and that date made for a great day to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Kathleen Kelley’s literature class at Meeker High School presented three Seuss stories to about 80 children and their parents at Meeker Elementary School. All enjoyed the skits of ‘Green Eggs and Ham,’ ‘Yertle the Turtle’ and ‘The Lorax.’ March 2 was Dr. Seuss’s (Theodore Geisel) actual birthday, and MES Principal Kathy Collins and her dog, Cricket, read Seuss stories to students throughout the day.
