Obituary: Doris ‘Jeanne’ Nadon

Doris Jeanne Nadon
Doris Jeanne Nadon
Doris ‘Jeanne’ Nadon, 81, of Galveston, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Mainland Medical Center. She was born Dec. 5, 1934, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Louise and Lawrence German.

Jeanne was raised in Houston, Texas, where she met and married her first love, Ted “Bubba” Bosworth, the father of her six children. The family moved from Rockwall, Texas, to Galveston Island in 1971, when she answered a classified ad for a job and was hired as advertising manager.
She first worked for E.S. Levy Department Store and then shortly after, became advertising manager for Eiband’s Department Store on Postoffice Street. Divorced shortly after arriving, she and her children made many lifelong friends in Galveston and roots grew deep. Later, she met and married Joe Nadon, the planning director for Galveston.
For their retirement, they moved to their paradise mountain home in Meeker, Colo., and lived for more than 10 years before moving back to League City, when challenges of their elder years began.
Her many talents and passions included painting, pastel art, making leather handbags, sewing and hunting resale treasures. She was the ultimate country music lover. Everyone knew that her family was the most important thing in her life, and she charmed everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Joe Nadon; her parents; siblings Anita, Mildred, Jimmy and Jerry; and cousin Lela Bennetsen.
Jeanne leaves behind many loving family members: her children and their spouses, Ted and Marjorie Bosworth, Becky and Ben Thomas, Larry Bosworth, Julie and Rick Boyle, Robert and Deanna Bosworth and Libbi and Michael Thevenet; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; her siblings and their spouses: Freddie and Jolene German and David German; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and, of course, her beloved Yorkie, Daisy.
Jeanne’s family received visitors on the evening of Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service was held, at the funeral home.

In God’s loving arms, she rests—as her family adores her now in heaven, just as before on this earth. Rest in Peace, Mama.
