The weather couldn’t have been much better for the annual Buford School annual fish fry, which was held Saturday at the school, located along County Road 17, about 22 miles east of Meeker. Saturday’s crowd just kept on coming for the two hours of the white fish dinner, and the incredibly vast array of side dishes and desserts showed that the women of the area do know how to throw a great feed.

Saturday’s crowd just kept on coming for the two hours of the white fish dinner, and the incredibly vast array of side dishes and desserts showed that the women of the area do know how to throw a great feed.
Well in excess of 200 persons lined up Saturday from just 4 to 6 p.m. to take part in the White River Community Association’s annual fish fry to benefit the upkeep and new projects at the Buford School. The crowd Saturday was believed to be the largest ever as people just kept arriving and getting in line for the endless white fish, potatoes and other fixings and some of the most extensive and varied selections of dessert cakes, pies, cookies, brownies and other items to be seen for miles around.
