The White River Electric Association board of directors, management and staff joined representatives from the Meeker School District for the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Meeker Solar Garden on June 15. A cooperative effort between WREA and the Meeker School District allowed for the solar garden to be built at 450 School St., and the solar garden began generating solar power on June 1. WREA members who signed up for the solar lease program will begin receiving their monthly solar lease credits on their electric bills at the end of June. On hand for the ribbon cutting were, from left to right: Dale Dunbar (WREA CFO), Chris Reidinger (WREA Staff Engineer), Bill Jordan (WREA Board President), Alan Michalewicz (WREA General Manager), Gary Dunham (WREA Board of Directors), Hal Pearce (WREA Board of Directors), Richard Welle (WREA Board of Directors), Rich Parr (WREA Board of Directors), Stan Wyatt (WREA Board of Directors), Trina Zagar-Brown (WREA General Counsel), Chris Selle (Meeker RE-1 Superintendent), Todd Shults (Meeker RE-1 Board of Directors) and Ron Hilkey (WREA Board of Directors).
